(Int J Gynaecol Obstet. 2021t;155:8–12) Iatrogenic preterm delivery, also known as provider-initiated birth, is a planned delivery before 37 weeks of gestation. As the science obstetrical and neonatal care practice progresses, globally iatrogenic has increased. Now, constitutes nearly 50% births increasing worldwide. Provider-initiated birth may be induction labor or cesarean without rupture membranes spontaneous labor. Reasons for include obstetric complications both maternal fetal nature. Maternal conditions such comorbidities hypertensive disorders pregnancy, antepartum hemorrhage, abnormal placentation conditions. medical heart disease, cancer, nephropathy, sepsis are in frequency. Fetal causes growth restriction, distress, structural malformations; nonmedical prompt delivery. factors provider behavior play role rate which led researchers to consider strategies that could decrease rates.
